Coaching Agreement

This Coaching Agreement (“Agreement”) is entered into between [Coach’s Name] (“Coach”) and [Client’s Name] (“Client”). By signing this Agreement, both parties acknowledge and accept the following terms.

1. Purpose of Coaching

Coaching is a collaborative process that supports the Client in achieving personal and/or professional goals, enhancing performance, and creating desired change. Coaching is future-focused and action-oriented.

Coaching is not therapy or counseling.

  • Coaching does not diagnose, treat, or cure mental health conditions.
  • Therapy and counseling address psychological issues, past trauma, or emotional distress, while coaching focuses on growth, goal setting, and accountability.
  • If at any point the Coach believes therapy or counseling would better serve the Client’s needs, the Coach may recommend referral to a licensed mental health professional.
The Client agrees to inform the Coach if they are currently under the care of a therapist, counselor, or other mental health professional. This allows the Coach to ensure that coaching complements—not conflicts with—therapeutic care.

2. Roles and Responsibilities

The Coach’s Role:

  • To provide support, accountability, and structure to help the Client clarify goals, identify challenges, and create action plans.
  • To ask questions, provide tools, and encourage reflection.
  • To maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.

The Client’s Role:

  • To take responsibility for decisions, actions, and results.
  • To be honest, open, and prepared for sessions.
  • To communicate clearly about needs, progress, and any concurrent therapeutic services.

3. Schedule and Communication

  • Coaching sessions are scheduled in advance, typically [e.g., weekly or biweekly, 60 minutes per session].
  • Sessions may be conducted via [Zoom / phone].
  • Rescheduling requires at least 24 hours’ notice. Missed appointments without notice may be billed in full.
  • Between sessions, the Client may contact the Coach by email for brief questions or updates.

4. Fees and Payment

  • The fee for coaching is $85.00 per hour or $240.00 for three sessions.
  • Payment will be due [at the time of booking / monthly in advance / at each session].
  • Late payments may result in suspension of services until balance is cleared.

5. Confidentiality

All coaching conversations are confidential. The Coach will not disclose information shared during sessions without the Client’s consent, except where required by law (e.g., risk of harm to self or others, court order).

6. Termination of Agreement

Either party may terminate this Agreement at any time with written notice. Fees already paid for unused sessions are refundable at the Coach’s discretion.

7. Disclaimer

The Client understands that coaching is not therapy, counseling, consulting, or medical treatment. Coaching results are not guaranteed and depend on the Client’s effort and commitment.
